Summer school starts

July 25, 2011

Now that my school has started, you may notice the following changes:
-my posts will be shorter and may be less frequent
-all my spelling will now be strictly Australian
-each post will contain a language lesson
Even though it was difficult dragging myself out of bed before it got too hot, I was glad to get my jog out of the way early this morning. When I got back to my room, I realised just how much of a smoke hole it’s become from the fire right outside my window. It doesn’t seem to matter whether I keep my window open or closed, so I made a mental note to buy an air freshener.
In my rush to ask the instructor a question before he disappeared and then run to a different building to sign up for the practical I wanted before it filled up, I left my water bottle in my first and only class of the day, Evolution of the Earth (which is really just a fancy way of saying geology). By the time I realised I had left it in the room, another class had started and I didn't want to walk in while that instructor was talking, plus I had to let my parents know I wasn't standing them up again on Skype.

Some traffic lights include a "B" for buses.

While I was in the library IMing Nathan about how I couldn’t figure out how to charge my phone, it beeped at me to tell me I had no credit left. Luckily the last message it had allowed me to receive was from Holly telling me where to meet if I wanted a ride to the store. Hopefully now I have enough minutes to last me until the semester ends.
Lesson 1
>Pronunciation: I say he-er; Aussies say he-uh.
>Vocabulary: I say sketchy; Aussies say dodgy.
