This morning I e-mailed the woman I spoke to Friday to tell her in the kindest way possible that she is clueless because Tarun a) is not an international student "even though I look like one,” b) has no idea who she is, and c) probably wouldn’t want to talk to her anyway because he’s so unhappy with how the university has handled the situation thus far. She responded that she was sorry to hear how upset "Terran” was but that she contacted University Hall (a dorm nowhere near Rotary) to alert them of his need for support. I didn’t know whether to be amused or disgusted by her response, but I didn’t bother to correct her because I knew she wouldn’t listen.

I baked lamingtons for Stephanie this morning before class, and then since I only had one today and she didn’t have any, we walked to the university hospital to ask how she can get vaccinated against meningococcal/meningitis. As we were leaving the emergency room (where we had been incorrectly directed from somewhere else) a guy about our age blocked our path and exclaimed, "You’re going to get shots? Me too! Wait with me, and we’ll go together!” He reminded me of Dory from Finding Nemo because he had the worst short term memory of anyone I’ve ever met. After he asked us our names he promptly forgot them, instead calling us Shelly and Sharon for the majority of the encounter. He asked me if I was staying in the St. Paul dorm, and even though I responded no he asked me how I liked it there. Luckily Stephanie was able to sneak away long enough to make an appointment, and when she returned we told him we had to go as soon as he was distracted.
My RA is Muslim so he started his 30 day fast for Rhamadan today. As far as I can figure, he didn't wake up before the sunrise, so his first meal of the day was around 6 p.m. when I got back from my walk with Stephanie and Holly. I also know that Tarun is Hindu, so I think I should have an advantage in my Gods, Myths, and Cults class.
