Stephanie and I didn’t have any class today since tutorials and practicals don’t start until next week, so we met up this morning to do laundry. We used pegs to hang them up so they didn’t blow onto the ground, where I found my clothes last time. Then we went to Market Day, which is basically a lot of people behind booths giving away free stuff, and after that we walked about a mile to the nearest store, where I couldn’t get any cash back defeating the purpose of even having my debit card with me. I just hope I can get the issue resolved before the markets this Sunday so I can actually buy something!

After we got back, I went to Stephanie’s dorm to watch her attempt to make a chocolate peanut butter cupcake, a combination she had never had, in a mug in the microwave. Surprisingly, it worked, and now I want to try it. On second thought, maybe I shouldn’t based on a certain microwave incident of my past--though yesterday I heard a Microwave Horror Story worse than mine! One of the residents on my floor said that last semester, he walked into the kitchen to see a blazing microwave and in a panic threw it off the second floor balcony, catching the grass on fire when it landed and destroying the microwave. He said it was worth it because the cost to replace it was significantly less than the alternative, a $1000 fine for setting off the fire alarm.
It seemed a lot easier than it has been to jog four miles yesterday and today, though I think I'll take a break tomorrow. I wish everything at JCU didn't cost extra, or I might try to find other ways to exercise. If I can find a saltwater pool nearby, swimming will probably get a lot more appealing as summer approaches and the "real" heat kicks in. I can only imagine what that's going to be like if the weather now is considered chilly.
