It was nice to get caught up with Jane after our environmental science lecture today and before my geology practical. (I made sure I had all the supplies I could possibly need before I left Rotary.) Apparently there is a rock garden behind the library and we had to answer a bunch of technical questions about our two favourites. This wouldn’t have been so bad if we didn’t have to sketch the rocks, too, well enough that the teacher can actually identify which rocks we’ve chosen just by looking at our sketches.

After 15 minutes and my best effort, I produced a drawing that was mediocre at best. Discouraged, I postponed the second sketch and went for a walk with the other med student on my floor, Lian, who lent me her coloured pencils so I could attempt to improve the appearance of my so-called art. My teacher did say he might give me extra points for colour, and so far it seems I am going to need them.
